Is this right for my 8–12 year old?
Yes — Digest is built specifically for this age range. The reading level, story depth and topic range are all pitched for independent readers aged 8–12. If your child is a strong reader closer to 7, they'll likely enjoy it too — many younger readers love it as a shared read with a parent.
Which three issues will I get?
Our Taster Pack contains Issues 62, 64 and 65 from the Digest back catalogue — chosen to show the range of subjects (science, maths, public art, life skills, hands-on experiments). When stock rotates we may substitute a similar three. Your child gets the same quality experience either way.
Can I choose specific issues?
Not in the Taster Pack — the bundle is a curated set so you get the full breadth of what Digest does. If you'd like to pick specific issues, take a look at our full Volume Box Sets which cover 10 consecutive issues each.
How long will three issues last?
Plenty of reading. Each issue is 76 pages with 15+ short stories — usually a few weeks of independent reading, depending on age and reading style. Many of our families revisit favourite stories long after the first read, and there's a hands-on experiment in every issue to come back to.
My child reads English as a second language — will they enjoy it?
Absolutely. The comic format makes the science accessible visually, and the language is pitched at school-age reading level with plenty of context from the illustrations. Many of our bilingual families read it together as a shared activity — it works beautifully.
What's your delivery and returns policy?
We post via Royal Mail (3–5 working days) from our UK warehouse. Standard UK shipping is £1.99 flat. If your child doesn't love the comics, return the unused issues within 14 days for a full refund — no questions asked.
